why do they try
« on: December 31, 2005 - 11:22:33 AM »
Yesterday I was driving my 69 charger home from working on my Grandfathers car and a mazda rx8 puleedup next to me while we are in traffic, he revs his little zipper head car and shoots through an opening and hangs out while im stuck behind a lincoln town car, he keeps slowing down and speeding up so finally I floor it and the front end raises and exhaust roars as I come up on the bumper of the lincoln, guess he gets the hint and moves over, I catch up with the mazda and he signals he wants to go for it so I let the charger loose for about 5 seconds and he cant keep up so I let off, he pulled up next to me again and gave me a thumbs up and didnt want to try again. Its nice to drive 500hp for a daily driver.

They try because they either want to see how they stack up against an old muscle car or because they don't have a clue and want to see what you've got.   :burnout:  Way to show em what real muscle is all about!       :cooldancing:   ...................Oldschool

I used to have an RX-8, and trust me, its nothing to scoff at.

especially since it makes the same amount of power as my '74 does, from a 1.3L engine

Exactly.  Although, I don't really trust the reliability of the rotary engine too much....

We got over 250 K miles on ours before it went for a drive in the ditch.

They have "issues" like oil use and never leave them parked for a long time, but the newer ones can last a long time.

Ah, Rotary's are shlt!  :eek4:
There is this drag/show in Australia which has a big burnout contest.....8 out of 12 Rotary's engines didn't make it out of the burnout pad.  :lol2:

Good kill.  :clapping: :bigshades:

Rotary's let go mostly because some dweeb who don't know ^&%$ about them has them. Due to it's sports car name, not many motor-heads have them.....Every-once in a while you get someone who knows shat they are doing and understand there timing (leading and trailing)...then they are viscous...especially on boost...they love turbos due to there super strong exhaust pulses.
