You know that challenger would be tough to build for that number...but it looks like the cars that either are period correct, or appear correct, are bringing the big $$  I'd say that was a great buy....heck i got more than that in my 70 cuda now, and it's not even road ready yet!

Anybody want to venture a guess at what the 70 hemicuda droptop will bring tomorrow?   I'm going to say 7 figures, and maybe over 2 million.

2 million on the button.....not bad!   LOL

Beat that slovelle buy quite a bit!

thought this was interesting to share with those that didn't get to see it. This car was the heavy weight champion of bidding. 2.8 million.  :22yikes:

Please no more B-J auction, It's getting to the point that the average person can't afford these cars either.  I am one of the lucky ones who bought theirs way back before the rush.  I drive my car at least once a week and I am not afraid to treat it like it was stolen, because I believe that's the way they should be treated.  Now mine is not a hemi car, but the standard 383 automatic 71superbee.  IMO.

I like what BJ has done for the muscle car market, and because I own a Cuda and a Challenger. But I can understand that's it gotten to a point of being way out of control with some cars. Many people will never be able to own the muscle car of there dreams because of BJ. Cloned cars are even reaching numbers nobody would have even dreamed about. I don't see an end in site, because muscle car prices have been rising since the late eighties. Back in 94, I had a chance to buy a plum crazy convertible matching # 70 Challenger restored for $6500. I thought that was about $1500 too much. What a mistake that was passing up.

So now I ask all members of the board; was $1500 too much for this car?

I think rich-guy feeding frenzies like B-J have distorted the price of mopars in general, and made it harder for the average guy to afford one.

this would be a little different than lets say a house in what way ? people place a house up for 500k and they have a bidding war and sell it for 600k

there limited numbered and not made anymore, the little guy doesnt matter.   1% or so is "rich" thats 3 million people.

What amazed me more than the guy in the white tshirt buying all those nice cars, was the fact that he did so for half of the show with a little sexy young thing sitting on his lap!  :worshippy
