Anyone here gotta ebody cuda with a 6pack hood?
« on: January 03, 2006 - 11:29:56 PM »
I'm considering getting a 6 pack hood on my car. flat black. i think it'd go well with the stripe, wheels, and black around the tail lights. Not really into AAR hoods as much. Only alternative would be a ralley hood....but i dont think i wanna track a hood down, body work, and get the color to match.

whatcha think?

heres a ROUGH photoshop....

Before you go ripping a big hole in that hood of yours...Think twice about it. There are tons of people wanting to get their hands on a perfect flat Barracuda hood so they can convert them into a shaker hood. See,...you either buy the parts and convert or send them a flat hood as an exchange towards a shaker hood. I would recommend getting a fiberglass hood already made like that and save your original. I don't know if you were thinking that or not but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Good to know that you won't be using your existing hood for that.

My dad's challenger came with a 6-pak hood and it was ok, a lot of non-mopar people thought it was great. They all thought it made the car look more like a racecar, so you will be getting more attention from idiots that always want to race. He ended up putting the power bulge hood on because its his favorite hood for a challenger, on a cuda he might have kept the 6-pak.....

I have a glass 6BBL hood in storage. It's an older one so it looks better then the glue on scoop.
I am not sure who made it but the base is the same base as a shaker hood. Then a repro 69 Road Runner scoop over that..

A little nicer design then the one in your photo I think.

I know what you mean but it never was a real shaker. It looks like someone took a fiberglass mold off of a real one though.   Probably way back in the days when a real shaker only cost $500.00 or less.
I have had the hood since 1990 and my buddy I bought it from had it for several years before that.

Goodys, I have a ralleye hood that I may be into selling/trading.  I just got it back from the walnut blaster and it is primed with epoxy primer.   Wouldn't need much body work, only has one very small "wow" in it at the front of the hood.  It was a factory hood pins hood.   Was thinking of selling it to either get an AAR hood or a shaker.  Let me know if you are interested tdralfs@telus.net

Just for the record though, the 6 pak hoods do look very good IMO

I think it would look killer with a AAR hood.
