Trippin' around Bama
« on: January 05, 2006 - 09:56:08 PM »
I know we're all picture junkies so here's what i snapped over the last two days in northern 'Bama :picture:  Not too many Mopars - in a way i guess that's good. This trip went Montgomery, Sheffield, Decatur, Huntsville, Scottsboro, Gadsden, Anniston, and back home...i'm bettin' we can go a long way towards identifyin' some of the older makes/models. ::)
These were found along Hwy 157 off of I65 around Cullman which is in the process of being 4-laned. The first  :walkaway:  pic is a flatbed pulling out with pancaked cars and trucks similar to those in the rest of the shots on the south side of 157 but on the north side of 157. I imagine the same family owned that land and the vehicles on it too...

[edit] Please stand by, we're experiencing technical difficulties :picture:

Thanks for all of the pics Russ.  I guess you didn't get a chance to take the Coronet for a "joyride".   :walkaway:

Good pics, Rusty.
My college had a stretch Checker.  It lost its brakes going down a mountain on our way to a track meet once.  Scared the crap out of all of us, luckily the coach found a place to pull off.  Haven't been in a Checker since.  lol

That was quite a journey there Rusty.  Glad you recorded it for us.  :picture:  I have heard that there are a lot of old abandoned cars in Alabama.  You just gotta know where to look I guess.  Thanks for the pics.   :cooldancing:  ...........Oldschool
