"Sequence Number: 104590
104590 = 4590th car built"
This is not quite accurate, the cars were not built sequentially on the assembly lines. Broadcast sheet sequence numbers have more to do with cars built one right after the other, and sequential broadcast sheet numbers are sometimes for cars 3000 or more VIN numbers apart. Patterns are appearing, cars that were actually built one after the other usually have at least two things in common like color & vinyl top, interior color and four speed, N95 car with vinyl tops, and so on.
They also built models in groups together, Barracudas one day, Valiants and Dusters the next, on to Challengers, back to Barracudas and so on. A Valiant VIN ending in 444444 may be built weeks before or after a Challenger ending in 444445 as an example.
