New meats ordered from Summit...
« on: January 07, 2006 - 03:53:45 PM »
Well, I read every single post and thread relating to tire sizes on E-body cars (whew), and to avoid being a guineau pig with 10-inch rims, a welding torch and spring relocation kit, I've decided on this combo for my 1970 Cuda convertible:

15x8 rallyes with BFG radial T/A 275/60-15's on the back
15x7 rallyes with BFG radial T/A 245/60-15's on the front

I ordered them from Summit Racing for $1079, mounted, balanced, delivered with trim rings, center caps, and lug nuts...

As soon as they come, pics will follow...

NZ440RT and Chryco thanks so much for all your posts, it helped a lot!

-- BTW:  My 2006 Magnum SRT8 will be arriving on Jan. 25th!  425hp!  (gulp) ---

Good choice!  :bananasmi Same as what Lucy wears and her stance is great (IMO).

No worries, about the help, just don't forget to post us eye candy!  :naughty:

Oi!

One thing I forgot is that I have wheel well moldings... for a second there I thought I might have to notch them, but I see that you have them too, NZ....  so no worries, then, eh?

And, I forgot to tell them to mount the tires with white letters OUT... you don't think there's any chance they'd mount BFG white letter T/A's with the letters IN, do you?  Maybe I better call...

Oh and wait till you see the Magnum SRT8... it looks wikkid in black!

That may end up being the tire size I put on my car. I put new leaf springs on the rear end sits up so high now it really needs some 15 inch wheels and tires. Post pictures as soon as you can so I can see how it looks with them installed.

No I have the factory correct 14X6 rallye's on my Challenger now. It just has 225X70 BFG radials on it now.

Okay, so the new baloneys came from Summit, quick as a wink.. Only problem is that my right front wheel is stuck on the hub!  Even with all the lugnuts loosened, that sucker is like bonded to the hub or something.  Before I take a sledgehammer to it, any slick suggestions?  I don't want to spray WD or something anywhere I'm not supposed to, but how in heck can I get this sucker off?  Is there a prying technique that I don't know about, or a preferred place to whack on the sucker to loosen it?  I even lowered the car back onto the wheels a bit, hoping that would break the seal, but no dice.

I would spray some ruster blaster around the part thats stuck (between wheel and  rotor) and loosen all the bolts just enought that there is a hair of slack, cut the wheel one way and go back and forth a several inches to see if it breaks it loose, I did this once when I had a problem.. it worked
