    What is the best product to use on plastic grill repairs

    What have you guys used with great success in repairing your grills?  I did my Cuda grill but ended up having to do it twice.  My repairs were based off an old article in High Performance Mopar and I'm wondering if anything better has come along and where to get it.

    I'm working on a 71 R/T grill if it matters any.

    We use 3M Duramix 04240 or Automix 05883 depending on how flexible we want the repair to be. The 5883 is more rigid and extremely strong.

    I'm no professional but I have repaired a couple of plastic grills before the latest being a 71 Sharktooth Duster grill that I bought in 2 pieces.  There are a couple of brands of 2 part epoxy products out there which are all standard formulae the basic difference being color. IMHO the real difference is making sure your part is clean and making sure there are surfaces that the epoxy can bond to. The best example of the surfaces is trying to repair a crack. What I mean is that you really can't bond the crack unless you cut "stitch" lines perpendicular to the crack along the crack line. The epoxy then has a place to go that will fill in and bond to. Then the epoxy is easily sandable and paintable and it will not separate from the plastic.
    Look close at the second pic and you can see the stitch lines.

    Sorry, lots of repairs, should have marked it.  Look inside the red circle below.
    By the way, the cuts are made with a Dremmel tool and they don't have to be all the way through. You can also use this stuff to replace tabs and broken corners if you have a grill to make a mold from. (JB Weld is great for making molds)

    ROMI- Looks like a nice plan on the plastic repair! I have a 71 'Cuda grill

    I work at a fleet facility, we use the 3M products to repair all types of stuff from patrol car accessories to header panels and other types of plastics etc. I tried some of the 5883 when I repaired my 70 grill (was missing a section) and it turned out great and it's still holding after 3 years. I am currently repairing a 71 grill and will try to post pics when complete. You must dremel out the crack when repairing splits and broken areas and use reinforcing bars or some type of reinforcement when spanning large areas where parts are missing. There are many products that would work but I liked how easy the 3M products were to sand and get a nearly invisible repair.

    Thanks.  For reinforcement, I've been using galvanized steel roofing shingles cut to fit and bent as needed since they aren't very think and rigid when bent to fit.
