My wife had asked me a pretty simple question today: What do you have left to do? I realized that I don't actually have a checklist showing what needs to be done. So we made a stop at Staples to pick up a whiteboard to help me figure things out.
Here's the full replacement quarter panel. I guarantee it won't look like this for too much longer!
With this cut I've removed the previous owners attempt to repair the lower quarter. He had overlapped the two sections of metal, which normally isn't a bad thing. However, he neglected to finish the weld on the trunk side of the repair, so moisture got into the area and caused the rust to start again.
Bad section outta there! You can also see my welder behind it.
