Can anyone help me on the value of a 1967 Barracuda Formula S???
« on: January 14, 2006 - 06:18:16 PM »
I am thinking about taking the following in trade towards my 67 Big Block Corvette Convertible. The only problem is I can not find anywhere another like it to determine it's value. Can anyone here help? It is a 1967 Barracuda Convertible. It is equipped with a Formula S package and a 383/4 bbl, #'s matching engine, factory 4 speed transmission with a 8 3/4, 3.23 sure grip. Front disc brakes with dual exhaust, HD torsions bars and HD rear springs. Midnight blue poly metallic exterior with blue bucket seats with console and original factory shifter.  New blue power convertible top with glass back window.  D 70 x 14 red streak tires. It is a three owner car with only one re-paint over straight/original sheet metal.  Rust free underside.  Highly detailed engine bay.  54,832 actual miles.  All the chrome and stainless outside the car is excellent.  New seat covers and carpet.  Original door panels and dash pad.  Comes with complete owner history, Galen Gouvier decoding, broadcast sheet, owner's manual, and Chrysler registry letter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just as an educated guess -   High 20's to low 30's for the right buyer.  It sounds like a rare one to begin with and rarer that it has survived as intact as it is.

Be aware that as your 67 Vette is, the 67 'Cuda didn't have the VIN #'s stamped into the engine + tranny yet.  So they can be date coded and maybe original to car but not as easy to prove as the post 68 cars when federal standards changed and VIN # 's began gettting stamped into blocks, etc.

 Good luck !

Wow, that`s a very rare combo . I saw a page when I googled on the net that there were 24 Big block Formula S Converts made for -67 and 11 made for -68 or maybe vice verse. Had a thread earlier about Formula S converts when I stated these figures for production #. But this goes for Bigblocks. Hope the deal will come thrue, and then you have to show us pics of the beauty. As for the value I`m not sure, but I saw one on e-bay a little moore than a year ago that went up to 18k and did not meet the reserve. That one was in a rather rough condition, I would say a nice start as a project.
If it was me I would go and pick it up ASAP,just my 2 cents
Good luck with the deal

Does anyone think this car would be worth $50,000?
Thanks

Nice car but it wouldn't be worth that much to me. Maybe 40's if the underneath and interior look as nice as the outside,

I agree with JS27NOB 40,000 is tops. It got 3 things going for it --it is a very rare car and a big block and a convertible. I think it would be an investment car and down the road the price will be going up and up !!

Sorry for any confussion. I was taking the Barracuda plus cash for my 67 Big Block Corvette convertible. It was not a straight up deal. Thanks to your input, I feel that $50,000 is too high and I have decided to take a 70 Challenger T/A plus cash for the Corvette instead. Thanks.

Yes, I know. The previous owner painted the air cleaner in his basement and applied the decal not realizing he put the six pack sticker on backwards.

Looks like you could just remove the air cleaner lid, spin it around and out it back on.  Will that work?   :cooldancing:   .............Oldschool

That would be too easy. Only goes on one way.
