Never did a poll so here is one you can do.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-PLYMOUTH-BARRACUDA_W0QQitemZ4605392270QQcategoryZ6409QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

View the Barracuda first, then make a selection. It is a slant 6 with 31,000 miles on it, very nice looking car.

I myself would not leave it alone. I'd keep all the parts, but crank up the POWER.  :working:

The body just screams light my tires  :burnout:  :clapping:  :bananasmi

As nice as it would be to keep it stock, I just couldnt own an e-bod with a 6-cyl in it......especially one with a rallye hood.

I would put a 440 in it so I could have lots of fun running the crap out of it.

I'd have to drop a big block in that car!

Funny? All responses speak of big block replacement, but yet the poll shows only 3 votes seperate keeping it as is vs. big block power. Personally, that car in that condition and with the documentation it has should stay as is. Yes it would be easy to take a "belle" (she is from Ga.) of a car and turn her into a dynamic diva, and in this case with minimum expense. But the lady deserves to maintain her status and history. If she were mine, I'd just keep her warm with love and happy with her other "big" sisters and brothers. She's beautiful just the way she is. (worship smiley here)

If it were my only car I'd go big block without a second guess. Maybe a Hemi, but I can't stand to part with that kind of money. Since I have other cars & a couple are big blocks already, I might seriously consider leaving the slant 6 alone since the car is so clean. I did vote big block though.

I voted for keeping the 6.  I  couldn't see screwing up a numbers car, especially a low mileage one, even if it was just a 6.  But if you were going to replace the engine, why a 440, go all the way and get the HEMI!!!

My '71 cuda clone started life as a gran coupe 318 auto. I really wanted a small block car that I could jump in and drive without stopping at a gas station 2 or 3 times a day. I built a stock 340 and backed it up with a 4 speed pistol grip and 3.23 gears. Not a whole lot out of the hole, but she flies down the interstate just fine.

Touching tht car would be like repainting a Picasso. There are so many other E-bodies that need work, why butcher one someone has takin alot of time and effort to keep original
