« on: June 04, 2002 - 12:41:10 AM »
I got a 340 built pretty good and need some new wires. I was looking at accell 300+, msd, taylor. I'm looking for something around 8.5mm and fits like a glove. Thanks

I use taylor solid core spiral wire 8mm. very low resistance and no radio interferance. I make my own so dont know which ones you can buy that will fit perfect.
if you make your own use moroso silicone plug boots they work great next to headers. mine have lasted 8 years without one going bad so far.

I work at Roush Racing and we have done extensive research on all of the products we us for our race cars.On our Dyno's hands down the best spark plug wire on the market is made by a company called Magnecor Their wires outperform Taylor,MSD,Moroso,Accel & others, their website is www.magnecor.com,they are located in Walled Lake,Michigan. They have wires for most applications in 7mm 8mm 8.5mm racing & 10mm racing, but may cost a few extra bucks.

i measured the resistance in one of my mallory wires and came up with 950 ohms.  I then messured a near equal length msd wire (actually the msd was a tad longer) and came up with an amazing 50 ohms.  yeah thats right, 18 times less resistance in the msd.  id be surprised if any wire is much less in resistance then 50 ohms.

I would also recommend getting a set of MSD Super Conductors. At 40-50 ohms per foot they are pretty hard to beat. Try the universal set, that way you can cut to fit
