Now I'm confused.
I thought the ones under the trunk were resonators and the ones under the rear seat were the mufflers?
If we're talking the factory style exhaust, the mufflers have the typical "S" path and the resonators are straight through design, aren't they?
Too little back pressure MAY hurt low end torque but will gain breathability and high end HP. Has to do with scavenging the exhaust, exhaust pulses, etc... This may have more to do with diameter of the pipes more.
On one of my cars I played around switching a Thrush Cherry Bomb (straight through) with a turbo muffler and the turbo muffler had better low end pull. Just my 2 cents.
