The situation is becoming anxious. I have no right to probably make these comments and will sincerely appologize to any who may be offended, and as Tropicalcats has said, this ain't preaching, just a call for some help and support.
I beleieve there are a few here that could buy Burpins car with little or no financial pressure. And many more could make some contributions to this site project. To anyone who could possibly just buy the car consider this: You purchase the car, first this immediately helps Burpin get out of his predidtment. You then can be a good friend as well to the site and hold the car if neccesary for another year for us to aquire the funds neccesary to help another friend,CudaGuy. Don cannot be at Carlisle this year but will be there in 2007, this is another 16 months of time to collect the money to then as a "club" to purchase the car from you and present it to Don at Carlisle in 2007. If we cannot raise the funds you then have the option of just selling the car to get your money back.
No "club" or group of people can help everyone all the time, so why are these two people being put at the front at this time? Well, Burpin needs our help and he has humblly asked if we can. You or I could do the same if placed in such a predictiment. Don knows nothing of the phase II of this situation, so why is he picked to receive such a generous "gift"? Well, Don is just like most of us, an average "Joe" trying to raise a young family ( well I guess I'm not like him because I'm an old fart still hanging on,lol), Don had been in the military before, but the civilian workforce was just making him spin his wheels trying to provide for his family. Unemployment forced him to provide by re-enlisting in the Marines. Would have I done this? Seriously doubt it, not with the past and recent tinderbox our world has found itself. He served his term in Iraq, and now is there again. No, no one forced Don into this situation, but his self pride and determination to provide for his family has put him there. And, no he is not there alone, he is one of thousands around the globe serving out country and trying to bring sercuity and peace to our world. Don however is one of us here at c-c.c, and when he awakes in the morning and does his job, he may not see the sunset one more time. I won't go on and tell you what Don represents to me, but personally he is a special young man who makes me pround of men and women like him.
Enough, bottom line this site is trying to help two of our own, and time is running out for the deadline for Burpin. Can we do it? I honestly know it can be done ! Question is who can/will step forward and help us all out. None of you really know me, I'm a little rough around the edges
maybe Don and Burpin are too
But I'll say this, if I could buy Burpins car, I'd do so..........and I would gladly and humbly give it to my friend CudaGuy. But honestly I can't, but as I said earlier I feel some here could. But I don't expect anyone to give the car away, give the rest a chance to share in helping too. Give c-c.c another 16 months if necessary to buy the car from you, whoever you may be.
An old southern group called the Lewis Family sang a song called "An old chunk of coal", the song goes on to say how that chunk of coal will one day become a diamond. Well, we don't have that kind of time, but I do know there are a lot of "diamond grade" people who belong to this site !
Please think about and consider this, thank you..............you know me as whitesatinmopar, but I know you all as my Mopar buds, and I hope we all can collectively help our two friends. Thank you for your patience. - Jim
