Hi-Jacking Threads - What Are Your Thoughts?
« on: January 20, 2006 - 08:22:22 PM »

We all do it, but how do you feel about it?

Personally, it doesn't bother me one bit. If it's way off topic they should PM the person but like in real life if you are talking in a group you don't pull someone away behind closed doors and ask them something unless it's private which in that case it should be a PM. I do it quote a bit but I try and stay close to the topic on hand and I also try and make it interesting and make people happy/laugh. I also try and post a photo or info on the topic again after a reply from my hi-jack to put the topic back on track.....

So, what's your thoughts?  :dunno:

I guess it depends on how bad it is hi jacked.  During conversations the topic leads to other topics and it happens.  I think as long as the conversation stays relevant it is ok.  Just my 2

I agree with PP, keep it relevant, if noone hijacked threads we'd have double the new posts and it would be imposibly to cover them all.

I agree with the above, one topic is bound to lead into another discussion. I prefer not to have too many new topics or I wouldn't have time to keep up.

Depends.  If it's relevent to the current convo, then it's okay.  But if it's way out there, and the person is posting just to post, well then, it should stop.

guilty as charged, shouldn't be a problem conversations tend to wander, well at my age anyway :screwy: some interesting things do get brought up That may not have been posted as a thread without the little spark that caused the straying?? Rich.
