    Chat for dummies 101

    Ok, I have tried getting into chat a few times with no luck. When I click on the "chat" button, I get a mostly empty page with a button that says "float". Clicking the float button does nothing. What am I doing wrong?  :dunno:

    I have heard that before from NZ I think??  Wierd . . . REDLINE or REV-IT-UP sould be able to help!   :thumbsup:

    Are you running Norton Anti Virus?  I think some people have had to disable the anti virus for 5 minutes (or something like that) to get it to work initially.  After you get in the first time, you can get in the chat without diabling your anti virus.  Does that sound familiar?

    Alaskan_TA  not sure what that is...   can you grab a screen shot and post it here-- you know ALT-PrtScrn and paste in your graphics package...     I guess first check to see if you can run java  -- what happens when you run my little java test here:  http://www.ridesthatrock.com/tempchat/html/browsertest.html ?


    Also the Norton Internet Security 2005 thinks the chat software we use is a "popup" or  "ad" and doesnt allow you to run the java app.  you have to discable NIS for a few minutes to run it.  ( I posted some info on this here  http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=15257.0 )  OldSchool does this all the time -- knows how

    It might be that you dont have java.

    Bummer! I can't get onto the Chat!  I am on a Mac, running Safari, but Java IS working and I pass the JavaTest thingies...  I will investigate more.....
