I have disabled the ability to upload .bmp files. After going through our current upload storage issue, I have found many still use .bmp's instead of .jpg and/or .gif files. However, .bmp files use up to 10 times the amount of space for the same size picture. So if possible, please size your pics to around 700 wide and save all your pics as either .jpg or .gif files.
