    Year One Dash Pad and Door Panels

    Has anyone bought and installed a dash pad and/or door panels from Year One?  Curious about the quality and fit.  Do they look comparable to stock?

    when i bought my car it came with the year one dash cover and im not impressed, the speaker hole just has holes drilled in it instead of the stock speaker grill.  I've heard their dashpads are pretty close to stock, havent heard anything about the door panels (PRICEY!!) :faint:

    I used a dash from Year One, wasn't very good. Has waves in the stitching and the front (nearest the window) had bows in it that made a jockeys legs look straight. lol Wasn't impressed at all.

    Still looks good, if I had made a trailer queen it probably would have come out. I'd give it a 6-1/2 to 7 out of ten.
    If you can, restore your originals, that is the only way to get concourse finishes IMO.

    The door panels were absolute shlt, very crappy indeed.
    Though this isn't YO's fault, well not all...they only sell the products.

    The door panels were Palco, we ordered 2 sets in the end and neither were correct.
    One panel was 1" short the other just wouldn't fit and you can't trim the door panels to suit.

    We ended up restoring my originals, they came out great and the fit (of course) was perfect.
    They are not 10 out 10 show pieces as they were chalking in area's, though know one will know except me.

    If someone comes up with a good way to restore the door panels they could make a good living out of it. Just dashes covers them with vinyl and they are high priced and they don't look correct. My new ones have been ordered since Sept. 2005 and hav not got them yet and will probibly not like them when they come as they are Palco brand panels.

    They deal with Palco also, so, just as crap.


    Do you have a local furniture/car restoration shop? They will be able to do it.  :thumbsup:
    Look around, use the yellow pages or the web for somewhere local, grab a pen and some paper and look around.

    I've seen a few shops that will redo your dashpad back to original, but closest one i found was in arizona, ill see if i cant dig up what it was.  not sure on prices.

    That's Ultimate Rides. I bought one from them. You have to do a little trimming around the gauges, and AC vents, but other than that, I like it. You have to send in a core in case you didn't know.

    I also got my dash pad from Ultimate Rides, went in real well when installed last summer. If you want to keep your original dash, you will be charged  a core charge, that's how it went for me when I bought mine, because I elected to keep my original dash pad.

    WOW NZ you're interior looks VERY good in the pics!!I was wondering what you did to the panels to get them looking so good since you had wanted to replace them .

    Stached440 - An Arizona shop would be great since I live in Phoenix.

    A year or 2 ago I read an article in one of the car mags that talked about a shop in LA that redid dashes, is that Ultimate Rides?

    Common27 - I agree, I thought those pictures looked great, I guess it's hard to see the fine detail in the pictures.  It did look like the bottom was held in place with exposed screws, is that the way the replacements work?
