Stupid shaker hood question
« on: January 25, 2006 - 09:15:23 PM »
As some of you have seen I am in the middle of a full restoration of a 71 'cuda clone. I really want to put a shaker hood on it, but just the other day this idea came into my head that I don't know if you could get a/c on a car with a shaker hood due to possible clearence issues, can you have a shaker and a/c? I have done a lot of searches on the net but can't find the answer. Thanks.

I would think if you mount an aftermarket compressor down below the water pump level you would eliminate the clearance issue.

 :iagree:

Using the stock mopar compressor can be done, but you'll have to notch the air cleaner base to clear it. Use a sanden compressor or do like JS27 suggests and you'll have no problems.

do the schumacher motor mounts 4 the hemi conversion really cause problems with a shaker hood clearance?

Competitors of schumacher say yes - of course schumacher says no

What is the best motor mount for my hemi install?
