Original is always better than the re-pop stuff that's out there. I finally got around to bringing in the mirrors for my '70 Challenger to get re-chromed by a place in Milwaukee,WI - Badger Plating. They do a lot of stuff for custom and show cars. My mirrors were very porous, so they have to be copper-coated, prior to the chrome plating process, to fill in the little pits and pores. Anyway, for 2 mirrors, 2 mirror bases, and the remote mirror control knob will run me about $ 315.00. I don't think that's too much of a price to pay for being able to retain the original mirrors, and the work that I have seen that's been done by them is very good. With luck, I'll be getting my mirrors back in about 1 week - can hardly wait to put them back on!
