 :dogpile:Back again after 9 months !
Good news ! some progress at long last.
I just got my car back from my body guy. Looks good,Took a long time though, worth it I guess. Now I am checking around for a good paint shop. That is how I had to do it here in California where labor rates are sky high !
P.S. I bought a Year one AAR hood and it did not fit all. Maybe it fit a Chevy? I took a bunch of pisc to send to them and see if they will help. I just ended up putting the original back on and it fits pretty good !
Has anyone else out there had this happen with the Year One AAR hood??
Let Me Know

No experience with the hoods, but good to hear from you. Wondered what happened to you.
Don't have Many locals on this board and can't afford to lose any  :smokin:

Cars lookin' great. I've got a great shop to recommend for six-pack carb work if you need it.

Remember, get the mechanical part done before the paint so you don't have to worry as much about scratching it while :working:

Thanks for the thumbs up !
Yeh, paint and grease just don't mix !
I put all new brakes and the engine ran well before it went to the body guy. I have new replacement 6pack carbs on now, saving up to have my originals rebuild.
I am hoping to pull the engine and trans before I send it out for paint.
They previous owner said he thought he remembered that the trans popped out gear. I am also debating on whether to go ahead and put new gaskets and seals in the engine.
Maybe detune it a bit. It has solid lifters and a big cam and I want to run stock exhaust manifolds(might choke it up?) It sound crazy hot with the headers and I love it so probably should leave it alone !
Do you think that I can run stock 340hp manifolds and AAR exhaust on a pumped up engine?
I would hate to sufficate it.

if the headers fit and don't leak...I'd keep 'em.

That said the stock ones seem to work ok on mine.

My headers are long gone ! They were old and not the greatest. I will try the stock set up and see what happens. It is always a hard choice trying to stay stock and still have fun !

Yup, I can't wait to see some color on it myself !
I really wanted to paint it B5 blue like the 71 I had 20 years ago. Gotta go with original though.

It's hard to find fault with any AAR no matter what color....the color of a car definately grows on it's owner.....
