I sat down last night and added everthing I need for the cuda parts labor (i guestimated very high with labor)  but i went through year one and added all the parts up and my total came to 12000 (rounded up) so i figured if i can save up 200 a month for the next 5 years il be driving the cuda by the time i turn 27! thats what im gonna shoot for anyhow! lol if I only had the  :money::drunk:

 Don't forget there's always swap meets, classifieds, E-Bay, and the rest of internet to hunt down deals on parts.
 You may get it done sooner than you think and for alot less.

I started to figure my own 70 Cuda restoration and came up with me having around $18,500 in the Cuda. I never had much work done by someone else unless I couldn't or didn't know to do it. Parts that you are missing are the killer as I needed alot of trim as mine was in pretty poor shape. I also needed a new windshield and back glass which set me back $600.00 alone. I bought many items off ebay and saved a bunch of money and even drove to the paddock twice to save the shipping costs on the big items I needed. I would also consider some of the small vendors as if you tell them you need many items they will more than likely give you a discount or free shipping. I have bought many items at Mopar Nationals and got free shipping at least a  half a dozen times on things like brake lines, fuel lines, door panels, and seat covers to mention a few.

I've only had my 70 back since July of 05 but even before that I was buying parts that I knew I would need. Fuel pump, themostat..... I buy a little each week from a fund set up for the car and direct deposit from my pay check. If I find an extra dollar or two I roll it into the account. I also keep an eye out on e-bay. My car is complete and I have not had to find any big pieces but I'm still doing it one piece at a time. :working:

Just some input from someone who's been there......figure whatever you think you need for $$ in parts will cost you in the end about 50% more. You'll find as you go along that some parts you thought were good are not, and some that you thought you'd use are not going to be up to your standards as the car comes together. There are ways to save $$, but to do it top shelf is going to cost $$$$$$.

Well maybe buy a done car nice driver and get a bank loan through hagerty.com or jj best.com and pay on it while you enjoy.

Definatly get a bank loan. I have been doing the "buy parts when I have spare money" plan for a few years and it isnt very efficient. I am going to stick with that plan till the end of this year and then go get a bank loan. I figured I was buying at least $200-300 dollars a month in parts for the last 2 years and for that money I could have just taken a loan and had the car finished by now. Its better to owe a bank money and drive your car then to have it sit around and collect parts for 10 years. Plus, the way I look at it is that you are taking a loan to invest into something that will rarely depreciate in value. In my case I plan on taking a $10,000 loan and when I get my car finished it will be worth at least 3 times that.

well the loan is a good idea but im getting ready to finance a 100000k home! so i dont want to get over my my head with bills! if something happends and i need some money i can skip a month and not save the money but if i have a loan i have to pay it!
here is what iv figured rev! body parts 3000,motor 2000 tranny 2000 interior 2000 body labor 3000 im doing everything my self except body and paint! the drivetrain assembly interior etc im doing myself! the parts i need are quarters-300 (got from a local man) core support 300 trunk 400 inner fenders 400 everything else 1400! it may be more or less (proboly more) but im gonna save 200 a month and in 5 years il have 12000 thats one heck of a starting point anyhow!

Many of Year One's parts come from places you can deal directly with so shopping around will help save $$$.  Many mechanical parts can be bought from local automotive suppliers.
