« on: January 27, 2006 - 11:50:13 AM »
The Challenger I bought is a RT/SE and it needs the vinyl roof added back so I am looking for a source for

1) roof moldings below rear window and wherever else they are

2) roof SE emblems

anything else I will need?

Do you have all the SE trim??? By SE I mean the trim that goes on the top of the doors, on the fender tops, and across the back of the hood. Also, you will need the drip molding trim, the window trim, and the transition trim from vinyl top to the body. If you are going for originallity, then you will have to find NOS SE emblems.....if you aren't then just get the ones from yearone.

Oh boy.... it's probably very good you're starting to look now.  It took me forever to find the trim that goes on the doors.  They don't repo them and they are hard to find in good condition, not to mention $$$$.  Can you talk to the previous owner and ask if he still has them.  Surely no one would throw that stuff out....right?!?!?

Rev, if you would post a pic of the trim on the doors, my car was purchased disassembled and I wanna check to see if I have mine.   Also not sure what it means when someone says the trim on the fender tops?  Somehow I am now scrambling to find pics of SEs.     Thanks

some good shots, I assume all the trim is correct for a RT/SE.....

I don't seem to have too many pics of the trim, but this should help.  This is a pic of the trim on the top of the door.  If you follow the trim toward the front, you can see where the trim peice would go on the fender by the windshield and then more trim would go on the edge of the hood by the windshield.  This pic was taken before we installed those pieces.  I'll see if I can find some better pics.

Notice in the second picture how the trim goes from the door around the hood in one line.

The trim isnt that hard to find, just hard to find in good condition. Reason being is that most of them have dimples from when they were removed. The hard and expensive pieces are the ones on the top of the doors and sometimes the one on the hood. The 2 small pieces that are on the top of the fenders aren't that hard to find (I think I have a spare set) and the 2 that are on the 1/4 panel are pretty easy to get too. A good thing about the trim is that they can always be polished back to a brilliant luster, just takes a little work to do so. If I remember correctly, the last decent set I saw on ebay sold for $350.....

Mine has all the quarter, door, fender, and hood chrome which i plan to have refinished when the time nears but i was somewhat surprised to see the valence trim pass my "this ought to be enough" bid of $380 :dunno:  I picked up a pair of Sail Panel SE emblems many years ago through an add in MCG for $175. They had been on an SE that was in a bad accident in '71 and so are in beautiful shape - right place at the right time deal  Btw how complete is your headliner? Do you have the interior pieces for the small rear window?
