Looks like they are moving right along and will have paint on it in no time. It's almost amazing how fast a production shop can get these things done compared to me in my 2 car garage.

P.S.  All work being performed by Fairground Automotive & Body Shop.  Marietta Ga.

Mine's being done by another shop in Marietta.  They do great work.....when they actually work on it.  Unfortunately, I was suckered :screwy: into a final payment two months ago and it's pretty much been collecting dust in a 90% condition ever since.  The picture attached was taken today (2/17/06) and shows how it's looked since December.  I've literally tried bribery to no avail.  Not naming names yet, but if it's not finished and home this weekend as promised then it starts getting ugly.  :banghead:

I have known the owner of Fairground and his father before that for over 20 years.  He was the one that took a 1700 mile trip with me to pick up the Beast. This was on about 4-5 day notice.  Good guy.  I have paid close to 1/2 the money, and he never asked for a dime, I gave it to help him order and pay for parts and pay his employees that are working on the Beast..   If I hadn't given a dime yet, he would be cool with it, because he knows I will pay when the car gets finished.  I would recommend them if you ever need any auto repairs.  They are all old Mopar racers from back in the day.....  Oldschool

It's good to know the right guys.  If this weekend doesn't pan out as "promised", I may be giving him a call to finish her up. If I have to go by there, they'll know me because I'll still have the remnents of the word "SUCKER" written on my forehead!

That's a shame crcarch,

I hear that often. It seems these cars take a back seat to insurance claims and such. There aren't many places out there that appreciate the older classic cars, regardless if you have the $$$ or not. I have heard of cars taking a year or two to get out of a body shop.  :P

A little further along!  The craftsmen on the Beast worked over the weekend!  What a dedicated group.  Not too much longer till it's ready for paint.  Glass is out, all trim removed, tailights, front grill.  Not much left on the body now.  A bunch of the car has been primed.  Here are some more pics.....

Great progress update Oldschool. Tell them if anyone gets that engine bay dirty, you know some people with large trunk space, a big carpet rug, river rocks and an out of the way bridge.  :bigshades:

We are heading down the home stretch now.....     Everything has been prepped, chrome trim is done, tailight trim is still at the refinishers.  Hood has been basicly rebuilt, new windshield, and the jambs have already been finished.  Ought to have her back on the road   :burnout:  in 2-3 weeks.  Here are a few pics from today at the shop.
