Found: 70 Road Runner
« on: January 31, 2006 - 06:38:58 PM »
So I have been living here where I'm at for over the last three years. I have passed by this car covered up that whole time.It is only a quarter of a mile away from me. Today, I slowed down and just sat there looking at it. I'm thinking, "It's gotta be a Chebbie under that." So this young guy comes out. I ask him..."IS that a Mopar under there?" He says "Yes" Of course, before I can even see it,I start coming unglued. So I meet the owner later on today. I found out he is the second owner from when it was only 8 months old. Original paint. Block has been replaced.Only one small spot of rust that I could see. He tells me stories of when he would race in the Canyon nearby years ago.. His friend in another RR died there on the twisty road. He plans on re doing it when he retires. I know he won't sell it, so I didn't even bother to ask. Told me somebody offered him 30K already. That's a pic of him. he will be registering here soon when his computer is replaced. He said he will go as Niles Kidd. There's another one recruited!!

TC, very cool find!!!!  It's funny how you find these cars only a couple miles from home and you had no idea of their existence.  He'll have an awesome car when he's finished with it as it looks very clean and solid from the pics.

:iagree: Get this, a guy called me yesterday, said "I was told you were our local Mopar Mr. Muscle guy", I had to laugh and in my dry humor replied. "Yeh, I own a couple Mopars, but never been into body building". Any why I never knew this car existed, and no wonder, it's been in a garage for the last 12 years, never seen the light of day until last summer. It's not a muscle car but a very fine 1970 Fury convertable, absolute great shape inside and out. He was wondering if I might be interested in buying it. Get this, he now owns it because it came as part of an estate sale, when he bought the property the car was signed over and stayed in the garage. Wild huh? He is not a Mopar guy but knows it's a car that should be well taken care of, he refuses to park it outside and his wife is getting pissed cause her daily driver is sitting out in the cold, lol. Anyone interested? $3000.00

White, go grab that thing and save her.   :ylsuper:  Sounds like a very good deal at $3000.  What kind of condition?  Will he allow you to take some pic's?
