Whats the best way to remove decals?
« on: February 07, 2006 - 07:42:42 AM »
On one of my project cars I would like to remove the decals without damaging the paint. What is the best and easyest way?
Thanks

I always use Goo-Gone.  It's easier if you can peel anything of the top layer off and soak the rest with GG.  Comes of pretty easily.  I've never seen it do any damage to paint.

Get a hair dryer, and heat up the decal to be removed.  If you can get a corner to come up, it they should peel right off.  Be careful not to burn your fingers though, you have to keep them hot and then hurry and remove them before they cool off.  This has worked really well for me.  If there is residue left, use the Goo-gone like Rev said.   :2cents:
