front sway bar from 71 RoadRunner??
« on: February 07, 2006 - 05:40:10 PM »
Will a front sway bar from a 1971 RoadRunner bolt onto a 1970 Challenger?  Is anything different about them?  I know the inner fenders are the same.  What about the suspension?

71-72 B bodys use the same part , hit the wreckers , 73-74 are different

What about the rear sway bar?  My buddy got the inner fenders k member, radiator supportbrakes, etc off of a 71 RR (I think it was 71 have to make sure) He said I can get the front sway bar off of it.  The rest of the car is still at the yard.  He got the vin# and thought that it was a hi-po 383 four speed car.  I think he said some one took the rear end out (I think he said it had a dana at one time) of it but I'll check and see if the sway bar might still be around (if it had one).

the rear is totally different , E body bars were body mounted & linked down to the springs , the B body was diff mounted & linked to the body which is the poorer way to design it

I got the sway bar from the Roadrunner are the lower contol arms a direct bolt on?  Also is there any difference in k members (other than part number) between a six cylinder and a big block k member?

The reason I'm asking is because my Challenger was a 6 cylinder car, but someone has put a 400 in it.  I don't know if they changed to a V8 one or rigged somthing up.  What is different exactly about them?

I'll have to look at mine and see what I have or if the've got in rigged up.  It wouldn't be surprising on this car! :working:
