Did you see the Mopar in the commercial ? 2
« on: February 08, 2006 - 10:09:48 AM »
Nissan is showing last years Maxima commercial again. That's the one where the guy and the gal are getting out of the guys car after a date and they walk over to her car parked in the driveway. He puts his hand on her car and imagines all the great driving excitement he will have driving it.

Only thing  is his car is a 'CUDA. It is night time and you only see the top of the front end for a second but you can make out the front of the double bump hood and the header panel.

I don't know what would be so cool driving the Nissan after getting out of a black E-bod :cooldancing:

Ha!  Funny, I was thinking the same thing everytime I saw that commercial, except I was thinking it was a Charger!   Kinda wieird that they would have an American car in that spot and not like a competitor car like an Acura or Lexus or something.

Good eyes!

Here's a pic for a reminder.

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I was thinking Charger, too.
It has the insets in the front of the hood, and it's more squared off than a Cuda.

Trying to find that commercial, I found this.  What is that on the left?  A duster? A dart?

HA!  Very funny commercial!

Does look like some sort of Mopar on the left.

One of the reasons I thought it was a Charger was that I think I saw the directional thingy in the indent on the hood.  I could be halucinating...

just to clarify...the use of a beloved american muscle car was not a random decision by the jap car maker.
Everything traditionally "American" is under attack.
Have you seen the (Yamaha?) commercials trying to tell us that the American blue collar biker type's
are switching to and customizing their models now instead of Harleys  :roflsmiley:

Listen to the carefully scripted verbage next time you see one and check out the mean sterotypical biker bunch.
What a joke.

I've come to the conclusion that we even see Mopars on commercials even when they're not there.
hmmm....wonder what Sigmond Freud would have to say about this?  :screwy:

I think I commented on this last time but it is definitely a barracuda as you can see the plymouth script at the leading edge of the hood on the drivers side.

It's either a Dart or a Scamp, 72 and up.  You can see it has Rallye wheels.
