I remember your black T/A very well from the Nats at Indy!!!  I can honestly say, that in all my years of going to shows, I can not think of another car that struck me as cool looking as your black car did at that show.  That car looked incredible.  I think that was the same year there was another tx9 T/A for sale in the corral?

thanx, it was a beautiful car....I had forgot about taking it to the Indy MOPAR Nats...

I do remember taking it to the Nats in Ohio for its maiden voyage....I literally picked it up at the detail shop while they were still installing parts, loaded it on a trailer and drove it to Columbus ....when we unloaded the T/A I had to go buy some of the underhood/breather decals because the paint was still tacky when we loaded the car....next day at the show, someone walked up, looked it over closely and politely asked "where are the windshield wipers"....after searching everywhere, we found out they were still in Indiana....another guy loaned us a pair for the weekend off his show car....Sunday nite we loaded the car up, returned the wipers and left for Indiana, tired and happy....the BLACK/BLACK/BLACK T/A had been a raging success....many people attending the show had never seen one before.....I bet there were a thousand pictures taken of the car that weekend...

Whats the story behind using thise car "bubbles"??? Do they really work? I would think you'd need to be careful about what kind of air to put in those, anything with humidity would be a deathtrap of rust. Whats the cost to do one of those? I have an '69 Alfa GTV that I'd like to possibly "bubble" up.

That is a great story about the TA. They are close to the top of my list of cars I'd like to own before I'm to old to drive them. Let us hear some of the other interesting stories you have about the Mopar's you have owned.

...this Viper was one of the first SRT Vipers made and shipped....it was initially shipped to Woodhouse Chrysler in Blair Ne.....it arrived the day before Christmas 2002....the salesman called me and said AutoForm in Holland Michigan was wanting one of the first ones to modify and use for their advertising campaign, so it was on the truck back to Michigan the day after Christmas....

...they had the car for several months designing and manufacturing the new look for the SRT....it was completed and shown to Chrysler execs and shown at several Viper racing venues...then it was returned to me in May, NO CHARGE!!!

...the mods include
......front splitter
......side splitters
......rear spoiler
......aluminum gas cap
......removeable hardtop
......functional rollbar

...after the prototype was returned to me, a few modifications were made to the molds, so mine is the only one of its kind....I had another 2003 Viper SRT, a black one with some engine mods and alot of horse power....I drove it most of the time, then sold it....the AutoForm Viper has seen very little street time and probably never will...

Wow, an amazing machine you have there. I was wondering about that top, being that they just started making hardtops this year. You certainly have some nice mopars, do you collect any other brands? Ohh and by the way, nice house

...I use the bubbles are for long term storage....but I can have a car out of it just about as quick as a car cover...

...it is a vinyl floor with a zipper all the way around....so you drive onto the vinyl, park, pull the clear plastic cover over the car, zip it up to be air tight and plug it in....there is a computer fan that runs 24/7 to keep it inflated....they are rodent proof, bug proof, dust proof and the air is completely exchanged 4 times per hour.....your car is constantly sitting in moving air(they don't sweat)....I also like the idea that you can actually see the car as opposed to a cloth cover....these run about $350. each.....not much more than a cloth cover and the benefits are well worth the extra few $$$...no animals, no moisture under your car....I have kept cars in the bubbles for 2 years at a time and they are as clean as when you zipped them up....you can also run a battery tender cord thru between the zipper to keep it charged till next time you drive it...I agree, the first time I saw them, I screamed "OVERKILL"....but for protection, they can't be beat...

I posted pics a while back of a triple black T/A survivor with rear louvers. They were in the Hilton Head SC car show and Auction thread.
