What hood looks the best on a Challenger?
« on: February 13, 2006 - 07:20:43 AM »
I have heard many opinions of which hood looks best on a Challenger. I'm split between a shaker hood and the T/A hood. They both look great, but I still think on the right car the rally hood looks great also.  :swaying:

I love the rallye hoods.  I know they are more prevalent...but I like em!

Between shaker and T/A, I'd go for the T/A.  Looks cool, works well and doesn't hide the engine, but I think it looks odd in anything but flat black.  My personal favorite is the Rallye Hood!!!!

If I was to pick betwen the TA hood or the shaker hood I would pick the shaker. It has such a bold look sticking out of the hood. I still love the regular scooped hood but I would love to have a shaker hood on my Cuda.

Gotta love the shakers!
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

I have to go with the T/A hood hands down. The Mopar Chassis book lists that hood as the most  efficient stock hood of all time.  I wish they came on 'CUDAs but I think making one would look a little weird

The T/A setup weighs less and it just looks so killer on top and underneth with the way the air cleaner fits in there and all...  Ditto on the AAR hood too

I love my hoods flat!!!! :drunk:

I'd definitely have to say the T/A hoods were one of the coolest Challenger hoods out there.  Next to it would be the shaker, but I'm more of a T/A fan, so I like them a little better.  Now 'Cudas on the other hand, it definitely has to be a shaker!!!

:iagree:  I agree with 360cuda, but the shaker is still pretty cool.  But the shaker costs $$$$!   :money:

A good repro shaker setup will run around $4200 plus shipping and core charge for a flat hood. I just sold Gene Gregory (the guy that actually makes the hoods) a couple of nice flat challenger hoods last week, so he should have a hood in stock. You can get the whole setup through Sixpack Performance.

It's the only way to go. I just installed one of the kits on my 71 cuda last summer.

That really is a tough question. I like the Rally hood with the black treatment, but that looks best on lighter colored cars. I guess you might have guessed I have a T/A style. Have fun deciding.  :screwy:
