Does anyone have a build sheet for a........
« on: February 16, 2006 - 05:24:50 PM »
1970 N code 383 hp E-body that happens to have A/C, automatic trans and also the ECS California emissions package, N95?
My car is an LA built car and seems to have no build sheet, and I need to know the code that is under "Carb" for this combination of options. My research has shown some conflicts in exactly what carb I'm supposed to have, so if anybody has a build sheet with these options....that would be very helpful!
Thanks
Guy

I have everything but the air conditioning. I don't think that the carbs were different but not 100% sure.

One of my references shows one carb for A/C and another for ECS.
The question is.....which option has priority?  I guess the only way to be reasonably sure is to find another car with the same combination and see what the build sheet shows.
What code is on your sheet for carb?
Thanks

I think the A/C cars got the Carter AVS and the non A/C ones got the Holleys.  At least that's what I'm thinking at this point.  Does your car still have the correct Holley?
The problem I have is deciding whether it's supposed to be a Carter 4732S or a 4734S.  It has an AVS on it now, but the number crosses to some mid 70's Ford application.  I think that this car was stored a very long time at some point, as it is a survivor, and when it was brought out of storage, whoever did it figured the easiest thing to do was to simply replace the carb rather than rebuild the surely gummed  up original.  The rest of the car is untouched.

No unfortunately my original motor is most likely a boat anchor somewhere in Calif.
