Diamonds in the Ruff
« on: February 06, 2003 - 11:07:19 PM »
Here are a few pictures of E-bodies that I took while sourcing out parts for two cars that I just finished restoring. Well actually I have a few more things to do but the big part is done.

This car I could of bought for about $1500, it is a 383 'cuda auto, pretty bad shape, but the grill and gilled fenders were there.

These were parked next to it

This is a wreckers that help me get a lot of the more common parts that I required. There was a 71' cuda that donated several parts for my 71.

These were all taking in the last couple years. I am going to a small town this weekend to look at another 71 cuda and a 70 Challenger that is scheduled to be crushed in the spring. I am hoping to buy them both for spare parts.

The E-body cemetary is located in Alberta Canada. Here's a couple more pics.

The yellow cuda in the back donated lots of 71 only parts.

There's lots of A & B bodies as well.

Wow, awesome find.
I love finding junk yard cars.
Nothing is to rough for me.
Is there a convertible in there by chance?
I would love to get that blue 71 with the fender gills.
Is it still for sale? Do you have a phone number?
thanks for any info.
What are you finishing?

I have not found any convertibles so far. The 71 was for sale, I was considering buying it myself for parts, but it's in pretty bad shape. I will touch base with him to see if it's still for sale.

Uhmmmmm. :o  440six, you are one lucky man to find that place. Here in  New Jersey if you were to find a sitting E-body it would be like seeing Santa Claus. I am so shocked when i saw the pictures of those cars just SITTING THERE. I would have to buy them all and save them!!!!!

Found these this weekend not to far from my home town, they are going to be crushed soon. If I would of been here a couple months earlier I could of bought the shells before they were stacked for $50.00 each.

This a 71 cuda 383 auto, it still has the front disc conversion complete with booster. Also the seat belts and steering column are intact. I was able to crab these before the crusher.

These Two E-bodies use to be a white 70 Challenger and a Green with white stripe 72 Barracuda. Again I was able to crab all the salvagable parts before they met their maker.

This is a 72 Challenger with a fairy nice shell. It had a lot of odds and ends and because it was not stacked I decided to crab it before they crushed it.

This Satallite Sebring will not be crushed but parted. There were also several A-Bodies that had good parts that could of been salvage but were not.

Don't suppose there were any '67-9 A-body Barracuda's stashed in there anywhere??! If there were, how's the metal on the rear quarters and do any have disc brakes up front?? How about the deck lid plate that's on the back?? Or maybe an 8 3/4 rear end?? Passenger door or fender?? Maybe a dual outlet rear valance??

Since you seem to be out hunting... figured I'd give you a small list if you didn't mind... thanks!!  :D

I wouldn't say it's a first gen 'Cuda.. more of a second gen... the first gen's looked like the Valiant...  ::)

Wasn't the 'cuda  performance package introduced in 1969? I'm not up on the earlier years but I thought the 'cuda line was introduced that year and only in fastbacks and hardtops. Which ever year they came up with the cuda line was a great year as my 71 is a decendent of it.

The package you're referring to is the Formula S package... and it came out in 1968 with a 383 option... in 1969 you could get either a 383 or a 440... I wouldn't mind having a 440 in a '69 'Cuda!!!  ;D ;D
