Excitement is in the air...
« on: February 20, 2006 - 07:04:38 PM »
Well, dropped off my 1970 mirrors and remote mirror control at Badger Plating in Milwaukee on Jan. 30. Got the call today that they are ready for pick-up. :woohoo: Can hardly wait! Will post pics when I get them home, hopefully tomorrow.

I hope they turn out as good as the last pair I had chrome plated. Post pictures as soon as you can so we can all have a look.

How much do they charge?  I have a pair of '74 Challenger mirrors and am debating whether to buy repops or get themn re-chromed.  What kind of shape were yours in?

The shape of your mirrors doesn't matter, as they have to completely strip them anyway. I paid $150 each for mine at Nu-chrome.

Wow, prices sure seem to vary on rechrome... or does it depend on how pitted they are?  MEK, did they do a good job on yours?

How long did it take to get your stuff back from Nu-Chrome. They have had a flip top gas cap of mine since the end of October. I have e-mailed and know they got cap but now I can't find out any progress on it.  Is 4 months a long time for re-chroming?

Wow,
Did they phone you after they got your gas cap? I was given a job number when they got my mirrors, so I could call and get an up date if I wanted one. They quoted me 8 weeks, but it only took 5 or 6.

Picked up my re-chromed mirrors yesterday. WOW! Do they look awesome! Badger Plating did a seriously -kick-a** job on these mirrors. Talk about a night and day difference compared to what they were. I can hardly wait to install them on my car. Here's a pic of them.

Hi 70RTdroptop, Thanks for the heads up about Badger Plating. I'm also in southeastern Wisconsin and its nice to know there is somebody local that
can do the plating. Your mirrors look very nice!  Jeff

70RTdroptop,

How much were they?  They turned them around that quickly....impressive.  Are they triple plated (show chrome)?

I sent in a quote request to NuChrome but they haven't answered back after two days.
