Hey y'all,
I'm 18 years old, for my birthday my dad gave me the title to his '73 barracuda.  Can be nice, but still needs alot of work, needs resto; but still in pretty good condition.  I figure i'll do the bodywork first, then learn/build engine and drivetrain for it.  I currently own a '98 Dodge 2500 cummins turbo-diesal with a few mods which is a good enough mopar for now.  Can't wait to get the barrcuda going though...

sorry if anyone is offended by the confederate flag on the bumper, this is probably one of the most well behaved forums ive been on, if anyone takes offense to it i apologize.  I was having trouble loading the photo, and i accidentally loaded the original instead of the one, sorry!

Welcome!

Your a lucky kid to have a father like that. Good luck on your project.

Yeah the 318 in that car, I am sure is tired, if it is the original and has little to no work done to it. Is it the original motor? 1 barrel carb or 2 barrel?

Don't worry about the flag. Everyone always tries to be P.C. these days, granted there are some wackos out there, but the flag is a bit of this country's history. Long as you are not going to start a riot and start yell'n the south will raise again, I don't think anyone should get offended. Its like watchn the Duke boys, the general wouldn't be the general without the flag on it.

The 318 was originally 2 barrel, but upgraded to a 750 holley double pumper... which got stolen.  The sidepipes
were functional but are now rusted out  :eek4:... like i said, it needs alot of work... an doesnt look like the picture; but with alot of work... im hoping to get it back like that; cant wait for the day... itll be a great learning expirence too, as i know next to nothing about this kind of stuff

Congrats, and welcome to the site.  That was nice of your dad to give you the car, how long has he had it?  You can get quite a bit of power out of a built 318 which is probably the cheapest way to go.  Have fun with your birthday present.

Welcome to the forum Hurricane!! I love to see younger folks getting in on this hobby...kind of ensures its longevity.  Looks like you have a great start with that challenger!  Any questions you come across while you're doing your resto, can be answered here....just ask.

So, you must be somewhere in the south...what state are you in?
