they where the very first pony car of course the mustang got all the credit for that! barracudas came out in 64 mustangs wasnt till 64 1/2!

they're both ebodies and alot of people think they're the same (like firebirds/camaros), but actually they share very few body panels so they are very different.

How about ....  one of the original design specifications was that the engine bay had to be able to accomodate all of the engines in the Pentastar inventory - from inline six cylinder to the Hemi, as well as a variety of accessories which include air conditioning and power steering.
