I don't know everything.  I googled 71 Challenger pictures and most of the cars didn't have them.  Some did though.  I guess if I ever own a 71, I'll look into it a little more.

All years had the DODGE letters. 

I have a 1972 Dodge Rallye Challenger hood WITHOUT D O D G E letters....

According to the Collector's Originality guide:
1970:
Flat steel hood (2934850): Tri-star badge
R/T Hood (3417066): Dodge block letters
Shaker Fresh Air Hood N96: Tri-star badge
T/A fiberglass hood: No badges

1971:
Flat hood (3611342): Tri-star badge
R/T Hood (3482618): No badges
Shaker hood (3443880): Tri-star
Fiber-glass fresh air N94: No badges

1972-1974:
Standard flat hood (3611378):
Rallye hood: Dodge block letters

Yes that's the book.  Sorry I got distracted and forgot to put in the ISBN.

It's also not clear what badges (if any) the 1972-1974 flat hood had.  The other flat hoods all seem to have Tri-star badges.

I have a factory flat hood that came from a 72-4 it had the DODGE letters on it ....
I know it was a 72-4 because it came with the fender with factory 72-4 louver.

Burdar was nice enough to make me a template off a hood and mail it to me.

I have attached a scan of it in case anyone else might find it useful.  This is the low quality version (to fir under 300k).  I have a HQ version that is around 1.4M if anyone wants to host it.
