Ok heres the story, I'm putting together a 70 t/a wannabe(not clone) I have a 340/6pk(72) rebuilt but some one left a piece of plastic in there. And of course it got jamed in the oil pump, shearing the shaft, welding #1 connecting rod, till it snaped off the crank. Gouged the crank a bit. The engine pistons are stamped std. heads=253189-d &-d x heads I believe, edelbrook 6pk manifold(no numbers) stock? block is 340-4. I know all bearings need to be replaced, oil pump, new connect rod, crank repair or replaced (which ever is cheaper --maybe replace with a cast crank?) I'm just wondering nows the time to add or make any modes for hp or durability. Whats the best route?
