I really like the performance aspect of the car, but I think the body modifications went too far for my tastes.

Low to the ground: :thumbsup:
Big wheels (maybe a bit too large but still good): :thumbsup:
Trick suspension: :thumbsup:
Shaved door handles and markers: :thumbsup:
Too much carbon fiber (a little less would have been more tasteful): :eek4:
Wedge shaped profile due to excessive body mods: :eek4:
Tail light panel: :eek4:
Interior design: :eek4:

I think this car is beautiful but it's not for me. I would hardly call it a real Cuda.

 How about some info on the transaxle + rear end.  Hate to get your shirt sleeve stuck in the tranny shifter linkage....

Ok, hopefully someone will re-post when this car actually does 200mph, or even 160 mph , or even 100mph on a public road.
 'Cause I'm skeptical about these cars that are true expensive customs that "are going to run at speed after making the show rounds"

 How bout this- drive it from show to show on our wonderfull interstate highway system....
  I mean, you're gonna drive it next year anyway right ??

 Tell me which option gets more respect from car guys. Driving it -or- plush upscale air-ride enclosed trailering with people pushing it into the show hall wearing white gloves so it doesn't get tarnished.

 I'm sure the engineering is suberb, but the look is just wrong. The front end looks like someone put it into a car crusher for a few seconds then pulled it back out.  :dunno:

This post is a freakin dilema! I like 'em all but for different reasons...

Man!  I like it, but it isn't a muscle car.  Maybe it's like calling a 4 door a Charger when the name and the named don't quite fit. Muscle cars need to imply "dirt under the fingernails", even if they're spotless and sitting on the SEMA floor.  This thing doesn't. Call it a Custom or a Functional Work of Art, and I'd agree.

I give it an A for engineering, execution, creativity and thinking outside the box, especially when comparing it to the Cuda gracing the cover of the April 06 Hot Rod Mag.  (I just can't get past the custom Shaker and the interior)  Actually prove it's drivable and set some of those records and I'll give it an A+!

The concept of the CUDA project is to take a highend
performance oriented muscle car and turn it into

• Working from inside out on the CUDA, the first
task to be accomplished was the forming of the
tubular Art Morrison frame rails to be mated
with front and rear independent suspension all
modified to fit in unison by JHRS.

• Moving onto the suspension, the car’s rakish
profile is achieve by using an Art Morrison
independent front end utilizing 19” Michelin
PS2 front tire mounted on 19” wheels and then
a Gertrag transaxle mates the independent rear
suspension using 20” Michelin PS2’s for rear
traction with 20” wheels providing the unsprung
weight to plant the power of the HEMI.

• Supplying the go for this project is a 572 Cubic
Inch, 870 Hp All Aluminum HEMI from Indy
Cylinder Head utilizing parts from Comp Cams,
MSD, Missle Enterprises, Wiseco, Callies, Barry
Grant Inc, Eagle, ATI, and Charlie’s Oil Pans to
name a few who have already contributed.

• The 1971 Cuda body has undergone extensive
re-engineering. The body modifications done to
date are too numerous to mention but the all steel
body has been chopped, sectioned and basically
just about every inch of it will be altered and
massaged to perfection to have that street rod like
fit and finish before being sprayed with its final
PPG Finish. In an effort to reduce body weight,
the CUDA will receive carbon fiber front fenders;
doors, hood and various interior components will
utilize the super strong yet lightweight material.

• As radical as this project is, the CUDA’s interior
will feature some comforts found in our everyday
drivers. A complete Vintage Air A/C system will
be fitted within the tight confines of the engine
and dash area of the car. A complete Paul Atkins
leather interior will be stitched up to add comfort
when rolling at 200 m.p.h. plus.

The 1971 Plymouth CUDA is the cornerstone of the project build with key elements including an Alan Johnson
tube-frame chassis design utilizing Art Morrison frame rails mated with hand made front and rear independent
suspension. Sitting between the frame rails is an all aluminum 870 h.p. dry sump Indy Cylinder Head HEMI
complete with one-off fuel injection mated to a Rockland Standard Gear T-56 6-speed transmission to deliver
the power to the Gertrag Transaxle. Other key elements of the CUDA project include world class super car
braking and handling; carbon fiber formed hood, front fenders, doors, and other components for further
body weight reduction. The modified bodylines of the CUDA will make this project the most attractive
g-machine to date.

i like the exhaust on it, but not if the price is a rear valance with ugly lights and looks like the rear of a ferrari or lamborghini or something like that. But its an incredible build.
