69-70 vs 71 Six Pack, which is best?
« on: February 25, 2006 - 10:50:20 PM »
I need a little help here...does anyone know if there is any difference between the 69-70 six pack setup compared to the 71?

The 69-70 uses the R4144 center carb and R4365 outer carbs, while the 71 uses the R4670 center and R4672 outer carbs.

I'm looking at Year One's listing, and other than the carb list numbers being different, the 69-70 is about $250 cheaper but doesnt come with the throttle cable. If I'm not looking for a complete accurate restoration, is there any reason why I would want to pay the extra money for a 71 six pack setup?

Is there some reason why the 69-70 would need a different throttle cable? Are the cables different between a B & E body?

Thanks

the center carb has emmissions conections on the fuel  bowl
the true 69 1/2 carbs were a full mechaniucal system used on the RR & SuperBee
You may want to talk to 6 Pack Performance in New Mexico , they have complete systems available & are great to deal with

I lie the 70 6bbl engines....more hp.  :naughty: 71 was "only" 10hp more than a 70 440-4bbl.  :ylsuper:
