heee heee heee.  I envision a very small heaven. No room for big blocks. :screwy:

Ok,, I would vote for 360-4bbl  E-58 style , didn't see that one before.
they were broke in on propane by the Factory- tore down after 1000 miles , tolerances checked, then put back together and installed in car.  [I have a couple of old car magazines that verify this]

:eek7:  :dunno: What's up? Sounds like everyone is picking the one they already have instead of the one they wish they had!  We're not being partial now are we?

Plain and simple, Hemi always has been and always will be the greatest engine of all time.  :grinyes:

Now if we had a poll on the most bang for the buck, Hemi wouldn't get my vote.

If I had one of each to choose from to drop into the chally, you can be sure it would be a 426 hemi!  Without a doubt!!

I would have to say the 440 -4 barrel. If properly built it will give you more bang for the buck that any other motor. The hemi is the king for all out power but the cost is also all out. The six packs are a nice addition but also triple your carb tuning gremlins. The small blocks are just awesome all around motors but fall short on raw brute torque.
440 all the way, but of course I am a little bias !!!

I'm a very happy 440 4bbl owner, but my favorite is the 340 4bbl.  My first two Cudas had 340's, and I loved 'em. I always like to hear about well-built 340's kicking butt and takin' names.

I'll pick a built 340 over a big block any day of the week. Dynamite comes in small packages.

Most of the Hemi's I see nowadays are in the show field, cause they are too "valuable" to race. BORING. That's not what they were built for, to sit in a show field and get pulled from show to show on a trailer. yuck.

And there is nothing like kicking butt on the drag strip with a small block, and embarrasing the big block boys. And yes, I've done it. Plus they were beaten by a small block driven by a girl, no less.  :woohoo:

 Welcome to the fiorum. That's one thing that's so great around here, opinions are as numerous as the ways you can build one of these Mopars, everyone has one and most everyone respects them. Well said ChallyGirl, hope you enjoy it around here, stick around and lets see some pictures of that Chally!

You left the one part out though.

I'm with challygirl small blocks are the best all around package. You get a big block in a car and it turns into a boat you just cant drive it the way you can a small block.  My vote goes to the 340 KING of Small blocks. SIXPACK  Stroker whatever the 340 is it in my book.  But you cant realy say a bad thing about the HEMI.

But honestly,......when are E-bodies (Muscle cars) great corner turners anyway?  :dunno:

Im pretty sure e bodies were never realy muscle cars they were actually pony cars.  Thats why they raced in the trans am series.  Mopar muscle cars were the b bodies then the a bodies.

I have had some good motors over the years.

My first Mopar was a 72 Challenger that I bought back in 1986. It had a 318 2bl, with a 4 speed. It was a great first taste of mopar. i installed a 4bl and electronic ignition and she was a great car for a high school student at the time, with no money.

A few years went by and I put a 383 in her. This motor was un stopable. I put a bigger cam, bigger carb and nitros on her. She never let me down. I would win street race after street race with her. I eventually put a 440 in her, but it never ran as good as the 383.

I eventually had to sell the car because of money issues. But one day I told myself, i am going to own another Mopar, but it will have a HEMI in her. i dont care how long it takes.

About 15 years later, I finally do own another Mopar, and she does have a Hemi in her. Once you have one, I just cant see myself with something else... But if I were, for a big block, it would be a 383, for a small block, a stroked 340 or 360.
