Whats the deal with the fender tag? Is that engine/trans combo not legit.

It has a few errors, and it is not something that I personally discuss, the www. is a big place and the information if posted benifits the fakers as well as the honest. So my lips are sealed.

Sorry maybe my GTS book is not up to date...

Just found somewhere that D24 is for a 4 speed Manual with Overdrive ???

But never saw that before on an E-body.

Just trying to make things clear, I'm an alert buyer..

The tag looks a bit "crowded" to me. Or am I mistaken? :2cents: TA what do you think?

Chrysler didn't make that Shaker hood either, that's the Cuda style under bracing piece modified to fit a Challenger flat hood.

I only spotted this because the Challenger Under Hood Brace is unique to Cuda/Challenger, both of my competitors sell the same Cuda style Under Brace piece in all of thier Cuda/Challenger Shaker Hood Kits as "correct" for both models (which it isn't) and niether of them have the correct drain or fixturing holes stamped into the under brace (like originals and ours do).

The way the codes are ordered is incorrect, too.

Phony car!

(Thanks hemi71 for the correction - see below)  :banghead:

Also, the fender tag is missing one critical point, the date stamp. It is a 3 digit number without any letters to denote month and day. Also the way the codes are ordered is incorrect, too.

Phony car!

Uhhhhh....date codes do have letters in them, if the car was built in October (A) , November (B) or December (C). Since there are 12 months, and only 9 digits to use, they went to alpha characters for the last 3 months.

Thats a repo tag for sure, but the date code is there...A31...October 31st.
