steering wheel resto
« on: February 27, 2006 - 08:16:55 PM »
Has anybody restored there Wooden steering wheel? I have a challenger with a basic wooden wheel is it just a matter of sanding it down and applying a new stain? Is the wheel solid wood? What color stain was used?

It is plastic, the process that was used when it was new was developed by Kodak.  I sent mine out to be restored.  Doug Lepak is one of the best doing them.

Sorry mate, I don't have a rimblow. I purchased a NOS Tuff wheel.
Seen his work and me and him got along well when I first came here....he's busy and hardly ever logs on, maybe once every 3-4 months. I have seen his work on video, email photos up close and on DVD advertising.

As for the prices, you'll have to email him to find out.

Thanks, sure is nice to have a good steering wheel.
That was a must, a NOS wheel. After all that is the item that matters the most.
Apart from the seat and pedals it's where you and the car make contact.

Cheers,
Carl
