Do what I did and build a stroked 340.  It's going to keep up with alot of big blocks.  Sell the 440 and get a stroker kit.  Don't think of selling the 340 if its' the original engine.

It is the original 340, with about 85k miles on it.  Had working factory A/C and working AM/FM radio.   :cooldancing:  Bought it from the second owner (both owners in same family though).

..I'll look for the site which had a 340 6-pak vs a stock hemi.. and the 340 nosed it at the end while the hemi was just getting wound up. But I also read the fastest street car list & it was all BB's. I guess I'm just not a RB fan.

If it's an original 340 car I wouldn't sell the 340. I'd either store it away and build the 440  and do alot of this --->  :burnout: or sell the 440 and build a stroker 340 and do alot of this--->  :burnout: :ylsuper:
 Good luck with it.

By you post manner and the use of "stock" HEMI, I take it the 340-6PAK wasn't stock?  :P

With the amount of money you spend on building and stroking the 340 you could use that same amount of money and make twice the power from a 440. OR you could spend money making it as powerful as a stock 440.

Trust me, when you finish your poject, you may find yourself looking around for another.   Addicting stuff!!!  maybe you could build out your existing car w/ the original 340, and keep your eyes open for another car in need a 440.

just a thought,

On the same subject...I have a 340 I pulled from my 71 cuda, that I plan on replacing w/ a 426 .   I have offered it for sale for 3K, but no takers  and that's w/ trans and exhaust manifold...The chances are that I'll get into another project car down the road, and if I wanted to replace the 340, if I needed to, I'm sure would will be much more.

I have yet to see a 340 block offered by mopar.

Keep it!
