WARNING! VIRUSES.....

WEDGEHEAD HERE.

IT BECAME APPARENT ON MAY 23/02 THAT I HAVE 2 (TWO) VIRUSES ON MY COMPUTER!!!

Anyone whom I emailed or emailed me most likely got contaminated by: W32 Klez.h@mm and/or Exploit-MIME.gen

I talked to my service provider who directed me to http://www.norton.com Antivirus website to go and download the tool to fix the W32...
Then go to http://www.housecall.antivirus.com to scan and get rid of the MIME virus.

I was warned that outlook and outlook express are very vunerable. And that it is a common virus/worm. It goes through your address book and emails everyone. It also can work around alot of antivirus software. It also should be expected to come back once fixed and should again be fixed.

I recieved emails that were posted as Postmaster Undeliverable...

even though I didn't send anything to that particular address.
Unfortunately I opened the notices to see what was going on...it was a trick to get one to open it!

If anyone got infected, I apologize profusely and reccomemend you get your system scanned by both websites mentioned!!!!

I don't know exactly where or when I got infected.

But I lost everything I had in my "my document's" folder. who knows what else yet??

It may be under control on my end for now. I'll try to keep you informed as I can.

No viruses found !!
I did receive a couple dozen postmaster undeliverable e-mails but I knew I had not sent to the adresses so I automatically deleted them

Norton is good stuff. It has kept me out of trouble for about 5 years now.

One hint on viruses like W32 "Danger Will Robinson"; When you get a large (400Kb) questionable E-mail look at the properties and path (right click) before opening it. If it doesn't look friendly (lots of code, little text) don't open it.

Norton's Antivirus 2002 is installed and everything is cleaned up now!

Thanks for the info. Wedge, we had two virus' in 3 different links on our hard drive, but our virus scanner detected and removed them. Everything is a-ok.

BEWARE GUYS!! Those klez worms are still "crawing" around, this morning when I booted up my virus scan detected two more of them d**n things. If you haven't got protection you better not open anything you are not sure about. SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST SICK!!
