IF you have a 70 - 72 E-body, you can upgrade to the larger factory discs using the knuckles from a '73 to '76 A-body and the caliper brackets from a late B-body. Use your 70 - 72 pin-type calipers. If you stay with the standard sized rotors, you can keep the factory caliper mounting brackets. There is NO need to change the upper or lower control arms as the 73 - 76 A-body knuckles will produce the same geometry. The 73 - 76 knuckle allows for the use of the '73 up rotors.
Manual brakes will provide superior feel to power units. Use the 15/16" A-body w/pw brakes master cyllinder.
Rear discs are not needed as you will still be able to lock up the rear wheels. If you are road racing, absolutely want to save 7 pounds of unsprung weight, or just want to show off, rear disc kits are available.
Upper control arms shoulder very little of the load...LCAs handle the bulk of the load. Box in the LCAs....pre-fabbed plates are available.
FYI...if you are contemplating suspension or brake upgrades, you MUST buy Tom Condran's book, "Performance Handling for Classic Mopars", available through ACME publishing. You have to mail order the book, but it is absolutely great!
