The 71 twin turbo charger guy works right around the corner from my house, last time I talked to him he was building a twin turbo challenger for his wife.
He has taken it to a local dyno shop that has since gone out of business and with 8 lbs of boost he posted a 1120HP and 950 torque, said it will run at 21lbs of boost and make around 1600HP but he was waiting for someone to beat his mark before he went back to blow them away. Ive seen him drive it on the street a few times and with the headers corked its sounds pretty quite. I know he is running EFI with 160lbs injecters on a 440 dont know what size turbos, he said it will run in the 7s if the boost was up all the way but  having a hard time keeping it on the ground with the present chassis.

Here's a nice little Blown 528 EFI HEMI.

She squeezes out about 1050 HP on pump gas..

As far as the turbo questions go, my understanding is the technology is present now that allows the turbo to provide instant power, just like a supercharger. I dont know all the specifics, but I have heard a bunch of guys talking about this and the old day os delay, are gone. Its power now in both cases.

Take care,
