The car was recovered on W. Clay St. in the City of Richmond, VA it's not the best part of town. If you google the crime for that city you will see why he wasn't charged. To many murders to deal with the city has lead the nation in murders more than once and usually in the top 10. Shoot, the city is the training ground for all those national crime prevention programs like project exile and stuff like that.
He had some who struck John story about it, cops even knew he was full of it. My problem is he has my info and I'm female and I have another Challenger, so I don't know how much is safe to say.
My cars are going to be moved to another location with about 10 other Challengers that belong to a friend.
Someone that I don't even know contact me an offer to replace the parts that were damaged for free.
I talked to a very good friend who is also a smart, wonderful litigation lawyer and he doesn't like what happened to me. So I will get justice.
I have lived in this town my entire life so I know people that are very unhappy that he wasn't arrested. I even had 2 bar bouncers go recover my car, cops got there after they did.
But I got to tell you a repo guy who read about it on the internet was the one who found it and hooked it up to his rollback and called the police. The guys I sent thought at first he was moving the car but thank God he was a repo guy cause he is more use to what happened and directed them to the correct person quickly.

He wasn't even charged?   That has to suck!   That's one way to discourage crime---don't even bother charging the criminals.    HHmmmmmmmm----I wonder if that has anything to do with the crime rate there?   Oh- well,  I hope you end up getting everything replaced to your satisfaction........   :cooldancing:    ...Oldschool

Cops said to me "I hope you're going to put that car somewhere safe"
I said "I was thinking of keeping it at their place at the police station"
Cop said "You don't want to do that cause it will get vandalized"

That's good you got it back mostly in one piece.  It's a shame they screwed up some of your parts, but at least they're all removable parts and can be replaced quite easily.

That's awesome, glad people were around to help you out and catch these scumbage. If you have insurance to cover the damage make sure you get the work appraised by someone who knows what these cars and parts are worth! I learned the hard way when some one ran me off the road a while ago. Double check all the numbers, the price the body man gave the insurance guy was in crashed condition and the insurance guy wrote it up as in pre-crash condition which really screwed me on settlement costs. Also, I would recommend a good insurance company if you don't already have one I use Haggerty and they have been great! I gave them a figure of total replacement value for the car, sent them pics, they agreed done deal! I hope this helps in a troubling time but who knows, you may get something cool outta it! Sean

Perhaps thier names, pictures and addresses were posted somewhere. Perhaps they may meet a stranger. Perhaps  they may regret what they have done and encouraged not to do it again. Perhaps....

Maybe we should organize an East Coast meet, and get the cops to support blocking off the street....like a street party.  LOL, Have the street lined with Challengers, and then of course the show winner being Barbara's coupe trophied right in front of the greedy bastids.

I wouldnt think a high crime rate would make a difference. The guy has property that was reported stolen in his possession, period.  :sly:

Car theft stats help contribute to the high crime ratings for any city. Dallas is very bad and has had an increasing number of homicides but they will still arrest and prosecute and indict thieves as long as there is sufficient evidence to back it up.

I guess I don't understand any PD looking the other way when the violation is as blatant as you describe.   :dunno:
