Pics of '70 Barracuda Convt
« on: March 03, 2006 - 05:15:50 PM »
Meant to post this on the '70 Barracuda convt. thread below.  Sorry.

Anyway, I took a closer look at her and I'm going to pass.  Think she's still more than adequate to make into a hemi Cuda clone, but I'm not up for the parts chasing and work that would be required.

Car isn't officially for sale, but owner will probably clean it up some, put it back together (he has the other fender), and advertise.  Price will be in the $20k range, I think.

Appreciate all the assistance here.

I saw one at Carlisle last year in about the same shape for about the same price.  Like the saying goes, it takes money to make money.

I can't believe they're bringing that kind of money. You'll have to thank the horses for keeping the grass cut around the car..lol.

I think it's time us mopar nuts took a time out. The prices are climbing faster than Vin numbers can be restamped.

I met the guy who owned this car at a cruise in tonight.  he just sold the car for $23,000.  He said he had a '70 Challenger, a '73 Cuda, and a couple of '69 or '70 Chargers for sale too.  He is supposed to call me to go look at them this week, I hope they are in better shape than this one was lol.

I've looked at all of his cars - the Challenger is ROUGH, the '73 Cuda is not much better.  He has a '70 Charger, which is also pretty rough.  Cars have been sitting outside too darn long.  Shoot me a PM or e mail if you want more details.  Also, if he gives you a price and it's a good one, give him cash on the spot.  He was going to sell me the Challenger for $1500 or so and I said I wanted to think about it (I'm thinking the car is just a parts car b/c of its condition) and he backed out of the deal.

IMO I'd rather pay less $ for a clean rustfree original car that was put together in a mopar factory with a 6 cylinder & zero options than a option loaded rust bucket for more $...

Just can't believe it - $23,000.00 for that. I have to show it to my appraiser, he valued my '70 Barracuda at $17,000.00 Canadian 2 years ago.

Man that is stupid IMO.

I'd rather pay an extra $5-7K and get a MINT 72-74 Cuda (#'s or not) any-day of the week.  :woo: :clapping:

With the way the market is, if I had found a car like that in that shape near me for that kind of money I would jump all over it.
