    Firm Feel Rebuild?

    I am planning on having my power steering box rebuilt by Firm Feel. Anyone done this before, good or bad comments appreciated. Also, they offer three stages of 'firmness' stage 1, 2 & 3. Anyone have any experience with these that can make a recommendation? Without actually feeling how the car handles in the different stages it is awfully difficult to make a choice. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Sean

    Firm feel is a reputable company & is good to deal with , m,sot people seem to go to a stage 2 but it depends what your expectations are as well , maybe call them & talk to them about your needs & what they offer

    I want that my Gran Coupe is MUSCLE car -> My choice was Stage III. K-frame is boxed and I added skid plate+aluminium strud rods+sleeves, lower control arm stiffening plates+greasable pins. The rest are coming from Energy Suspension & Edelbrock.

    Thanks guys! I think I will go with Stage 2 I don't want the handling to be super heavy I will be driving the car on the street. Originally it was really loose and that I did not care for. I did speak with the Firm Feel folks and they were very helpful they thought Stage 2 was the way to go for me as well. I just wanted to get some input from anyone who had the rebuild installed and see what they thought. I'd hate to spend the money and then say gee I wish I went with this instead, ya know?? Thanks Again! Sean

    I have the stage 2 and I would do it again.  Good choice.

    I spoke to Matt today there at Firm Feel.
    He said stage 2 box was the most popular so that is what I sent mine out to get done.

     Stage 3 is not too firm.  And I run a tuffwheel.  Feels like my 08 Camry at the wheel.  I also have fast ratio arms.  I love my stage 3.

    I live near the Santa Cruz mountains.
    I'll definitely be cruising thru the Redwoods from time to time with the Firm Feel.
    Old Santa Cruz Highway is one of my favorite cruises to do.

    The roads can get curvy requiring extra effort of steering at times.

    So my question is: Being that there will be quite a bit of driving thru twisty roads; is the firm Feel stage 3 still a good choice? Or should I go to level 2 due to the roads we have here?

    It's not too late for me to change my mind going from 2 to level 3. My cores arrive this week to them.

    TC the guys I know around here that had a 2 ...... wished they had a 3.  :dunno: I went with a 3 rite away and I do run a tuff wheel. Mine is S&G tho.....  :burnout:

    I have the 2.   do i wish i had the 3?  don't know as i haven't had a chance to drive one to see what it feels like.  But I do know i slide around in my stock Gran Coupe seats!!  I am gonna have to get some Velcro for by butt.

    I went with a stage 2 but wish I went with a 3.  Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike the 2 but with a rim blow wheel, 3 was the way to go.  Oh well, too late now........

    why does the rim blow make a difference - diameter of the steering wheel is too big for the shorter turning radius?

    Couldn't you guys with the Stage 2 box and Saginaw pumps shim the pump control valve to stiffen it up to get to feel like a Stage 3?
    I recently did my brothers Charger with a freshly RB stock box, put in a total of .104 in shims, will probably pull the pump off and put one more .021 shim in it. I would think you could dial it in right to where you like it.
