. Basically, if you butt weld or lap weld a skin on and do not use lead on the seam, Resto Rick says you will see the weld line on a hot day. If you don't want to use lead on the seam, you have to grind down the back of the welds.
I just ground down the welds on the backside. It was pretty easy except for one small stretch. I have to get a long grinding bit for that area. If you have the car apart, I see no reason to not grind down your welds!
