Fender tag decode
« on: March 04, 2006 - 04:27:10 PM »
Got my "Clone" fender tag for my 70 hemicuda recreation, clone, modified, whatever you'd like to call it.  Looks pretty good. Can you spot the codes that are not kosher?

These kind of tags are always fun to watch people look at them and if they know Mopar fender tags...scratch their heads.

I'll give it a go........

"A" body trim package on a 1970 "E" body   :grinno:

Super Track Pak 4.10 Dana only with 440 or HEMI's... not 383's!

"A61" was a 71 only option for an Automatic

"G37 " is another 71 only Mirror opt.

Special order??????

Hemi coded with a 383 VIN.

Did I miss any others?????  What is "A27" code?
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Cody,...A27 is the scheduled production date....which would decode as October 27th, 1969...which would happen to be my 10th birthday!

 :bananasmi    :bananasmi

A61????  not on this tag.

You could get a 4.10 dana with a 383,or 340 for that matter if you wanted to pay for it.

G37 is one you got...up until late 70 model year, dual mirrors would have been coded as each mirror, so two codes, 1 for left mirror, 1 for right.

Yeah, Y39 is special order...like a 426 hemi 5 speed in a 383 Cuda!

Keep looking...check out the transmission code.  There are other "funny" codes on here.

I wouldn't think so.......the fact he stamped "CLONE" on the tag should keep them at bay.

A34.... Super Track Pak, 4.10 Axle Ratio w/9.75" Dana axle, sure grip, front disk brakes, power brakes, max cooling, 7 blade torque drive fan & Hmei Suspension. AVAILABLE w/ 426 and 440 Engines with a 4-speed trans only. (no a/c) 1969 or 1970 (1971 you could get it with an auto)

That is how I read the A34 code.

Where did you find out the D25 was a 5 speed?
